When male college students viewed pictures of women in revealing clothing, the region of the brain associated with objects – or things you manipulated with your hand, like tools – was activated. The prefrontal cortex — where one considers the thoughts or feelings of another — was less active. In some cases, there was almost Zero brain activity in the prefrontal cortex — the part of the brain that lights up when one ponders another person's thoughts and feelings. They were seeing these women more as objects or things you use than as people you relate to.
